Inside Bill and  Melinda Gates’  $43M San Diego Home

By Louisa Ballhaus

Designed by architect Ken Rochetti, the Gates’ new home features six bedrooms and 3.5 baths. But in case they feel like hosting a big group, there’s also a two-bedroom guest house attached.  It’s also furnished with a four-car garage, and a spectacular outdoor area including a vast oceanfront deck, a glass tile swimming pool, and a 10-person Jacuzzi overlooking a fire pit.

One of six, this bedroom offers  (of course) ocean views and a marble fireplace.

The house’s high ceilings and open plan make every room feel airy and bright.

A perfect kids’ room for any families that may visit.

This master suite is seriously cozy.

Ever wondered what a 10-person Jacuzzi looks like? This is it.

In case you get tired  of swimming in  the ocean.

An outdoor fire pit  for warming up  after a swim.

The indoor fireplace, not to be confused with the outdoor  fire pit.

One of the many places to sit and gaze out at the sea.

At the Gates house, every room comes with its own view.

This 120-foot-long deck spans their oceanfront property.

A couple hanging chairs adding a bohemian touch.

Fuzzy white blankets and floor-to-ceiling windows facing  the pool.
