Create a photo backdrop in your nursery
The first few years of your baby's life are full of many physical changes. If you're like most parents, you'll want to capture every special moment with your camera. Set up this fun and easy fabric backdrop so that no matter how not-camera-ready the rest of your space is, you'll always have a great background.
This backdrop involves strips of fabric hung along the wall. You can choose colors and styles to fit either a boy's or a girl's nursery, so have fun and get started!
- Cotton twine
- Sewing machine and thread
- Iron and ironing board
- Large safety pin
- Tacks or nails
To create the fabric strips, simply snip your fabric every two inches and rip along the grain. Turn under the selvedge one inch and press, and then sew a seam.
Tie a safety pin to the end of your cotton twine and thread the twine through each pocket. Gather as needed. To attach the backdrop to the wall, use simple thumb tacks or small cup hooks.
As your baby becomes mobile, you'll want to tie up the backdrop to one side when not in use, as this could pose a strangulation risk if left accessible by the baby.
When you're ready to use your fabric photo backdrop, grab your go-to camera — the Canon Rebel is a great option to capture quick toddlers on the go — set your little one down in front, and you are ready for an impromptu photo shoot!
