Bio: Lisa Workman
Lisa Workman grew up on a large ranch in Wyoming, where she learned to make her own soap, butter and cheese, and participated in chores such as branding cattle and shearing sheep.
Lisa's rustic upbringing is reflected in her daily life and hobbies, which include cooking, oil painting, sewing, decorating and refurbishing pieces she's found at second-hand stores. Lisa has three grown children with her husband of 27 years. She's also mom to a cat named Figaro, who seems to have lost his mind ever since Lisa planted catnip in her herb garden.
At age 49, Lisa had an "ah-ha" moment and felt the urge to make a change within her mind, body and spirit. As part of this rebirth, she faced one of her biggest fears: She learned to swim. With the help of a mentor, she learned how to better weather the challenges of life and even transcend them. She says she looked forward to turning 50 because she is now able to "swim" to new horizons.
