Meet hostess Tara Hitchcock
Meet Tara Hitchcock, SheKnows' newest Ultimate Hostess.
Tara Hitchcock is an award-winning TV personality who has made her mark on American television.
Her love for news, her upbeat personality and her canny interview skills have made viewers throughout the country fall in love with her and the stories she brings into their homes.
Tara began her career in TV as a reporter at KBMT in Beaumont, Texas. She was quickly promoted to co-anchor after she proved her skills in covering local issues and popular community events. Two years later, she landed the job of morning host of Good Morning Arizona at KTVK in Phoenix, Arizona. Under her leadership, the show was the No. 1 morning show in its market for 10 years running.
During her years as a successful television personality, Tara interviewed a host of national leaders and celebrities — from John McCain to Justin Bieber. Her love of sports also led her to host shows from the Masters to the Super Bowl to the World Series.
Now forging ahead in a new chapter of her professional life, Tara is hosting segments called Tara's Reel Travels for CBS 5 in Phoenix. On Tara's Reel Travels, she interviews A-list celebrities including George Clooney, Sandra Bullock and Matt Damon.
Tara is also host of Ultimate Hostess for SheKnows, where she combines her love of travel, food and drink. Beginning in 2014, her column "Tara's Big Travels" will appear inPhoenix Magazine.
Tara has been honored with several professional awards since graduating with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Boston College and a master's degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University. She has also been recognized for her charity work, including being named one of Arizona's Top Ten "Trendsetters" for 2012.
Her community activism has included serving on the board of Best Buddies Arizona, volunteering as a National Celebrity Ambassador for Childhelp and being involved in a number of organizations such as Women Against MS, the National Kidney Foundation of Arizona and the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
In her spare time, Tara loves to travel with her husband and three stepkids. She also loves to kiteboard, ski, attend sporting events, scuba drive, take photographs and wakeboard.
