Just about every dress the first lady wears to a major event seems to sell out within 24 hours. Fashionistas hunt down the designer, and suddenly it’s splattered all over the Internet. This is exactly what happened last night when she wore a marigold dress by Narcisco Rodriguez to the State of the Union Address. Admittedly we all should probably be more focused on the issues discussed during the State of the Union than on what the first lady was wearing, but when the fashion world gets an itch, it has to scratch it.
The color (marigold, yellow, mustard, whichever you prefer to name it) seems to be a rising trend, because J. Lo and America Fererra wore similar if not exact hues to the 2016 Golden Globes just a few nights ago. Since Michelle Obama’s exact dress was sold out before the night was over, here are some cute shifts in the glowing shade (with a more affordable price tag) that you may want to shop instead.
