Still wanna get that must-have gift on your Christmas shopping list, but don’t want to pay the extra $5-15 to have it shipped to your door?
You’re in luck, especially if your favorite online retailers aren’t offering free shipping this holiday season — Free Shipping Day!
Free Shipping Day on Dec. 17
Free Shipping Day lands on one of the last online shopping days before Christmas — Dec. 17. Over 1,200 retailers are tapped to participate in Free Shipping Day this year, way up from the 750 participants in 2009.
Free Shipping Day was conceived and created by Luke Knowles in 2008, according to their website.
“In just two weeks, Knowles and his FreeShipping.org team recruited hundreds of merchants to offer free shipping with guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve on December 18, 2008,” according to the story on the official website. “Knowles expected a favorable response but didn’t anticipate the overwhelming interest from national media, merchants and consumers. Knowles believes the opportunities are endless and would someday like to include the majority of online merchants in Free Shipping Day.”
What’s better? Your purchases between 12 a.m. EST on Friday, Dec. 17 and 12 a.m. EST December 18 will arrive at your door by Christmas Eve. Procrastinator? Not you!
