Hugging pups adopted 2 hours after a plea on Facebook
Here's an inspiring story to start your day. Two pups sharing a kennel in a shelter were given a second chance mere hours after the Facebook group for Angels Among Us Pet Rescue put out a plea on its Facebook page.
The group wrote a short post from one dog's perspective, saying, "We're so scared in here. The people working in the shelters see how scared we are but just told each other that today is our deadline. We have to have someone rescue us or we'll be 'next.'"
"Kala and Keira are in a shelter and are scheduled to be put to sleep," the shelter wrote. "Today is their last day unless we can save them."
I'm happy to report that two hours and six minutes later, Kala and Keira were on their way to the vet before being adopted to a new home.
It's a great reminder that we all can make a difference in the lives of shelter pets, even when it's spreading the word through social media or donating.
