Pet grooming is an important part of owning any fur baby. But what about when grooming escalates into something a bit more… how should we put this gently… obsessive?
Whether for competition or just plain expression, these pets have owners who spend a lot of time and energy on their hairstyles. Like, for real, these hairstyles are over the top. Just take a look for yourself.
1. Mutant Ninja Poodle
Here’s a Poodle all shaved and dyed to look like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. It doesn’t seem completely stoked about the new look.
2. French braid pony mane
On the other end of the pet hairstyle spectrum we have this gorgeous hair braid that preserves the animal’s dignity.
3. Disney dog

Someone is really itching for a trip to the Magic Kingdom.
4. Punk rock pussycat
This kitty’s punk rock rainbow Mohawk is pretty gorgeous.
5. Mom! They braided the dog again!
How did they get this dog to hold still for this hairstyle?
6. Cheesy cat

Next year, Frosted Flakes and Tony the Tiger.
7. This dog is having a real identity crisis…

This isn’t a panda, it’s a dog shaved and dyed to look like a panda. The dog is completely confused, too.
8. Yeah, whatevs. I’m a lion now. Deal with it!
This cat shaved to look like a lion, however, seems completely chill about the makeover.
9. Bollywood mermaid?
Are Bollywood mermaids a thing? Between the hat, the jewels and the little feet fringe, there’s just so much going on with this Poodle’s hairstyle. It’s hard to know where to look first.
10. What in the world?!

Is there any way this is anything but creepy?
11. Rainbow Poodle

You really have to wonder about the inspiration behind this particular Poodle dye job.
12. Off the (daisy) chain
This horse’s backside is so pretty, even Kim K would be jelly.
13. Pinkie rabbit

This little pink bunny rabbit is cute enough for an Easter basket.
These images are cool, and the owners clearly love their pets, but is this humane? Seems like these extreme pet makeovers might be a little overly stressful on these pets. What do you think?
