Ah, May. After an annoying winterlike April for many of us, May should at least bring in some relief weather-wise, right? (Right??) But along with those environmental changes, it turns out May will also bring quite a few life transitions for parents and kids of all signs — according to the stars and Suzie Kerr Wright, an astrologer and psychic medium.

"May brings a huge sign change for unpredictable Uranus," says Wright. "After seven years in fiery Aries, this planet of freedom and rebellion moves into grounded, earthy Taurus, which rules our money, possessions and what we value most. That may sound lovely, but Uranus is a wild card and loves to shock and awe. We will definitely be feeling the need to break free from anything that restricts us — or in some cases, it may be suddenly removed from our lives."

How will that affect us (and our little ones) at home this May? Read on to find out.

1 /12: Aries: March 21 — April 19

1/12 :Aries: March 21 — April 19

For Aries parents, good news: You finally get a break from the intensity of pesky Uranus in your sign, which may have been wreaking havoc in your life as of late. While this may bring about some much-needed relaxation, Wright says this is the perfect time to go over your finances and — *gasp* — make a budget while at the same time examining your work schedule and seeing if you can lighten your load a bit.

In that regard, now's a good time to create a new plan to free yourself from heavy debt (and from spending way too many hours at work). In turn, use that time to spend with your family, which is sorely needed in May, because Wright says your little ones will be extra dramatic this month. "Make sure they have plenty of outside playtime to burn off all that energy," she notes.

2 /12: Taurus: April 20 — May 20

2/12 :Taurus: April 20 — May 20

Taurus, May is the time for just saying yes, says Wright — and right now, today, is time for a major change. The Taurus new moon makes it a perfect time to reinvent yourself.

There's even more good news for this sign: Wright says that by the end of May, your income may be on its way up (keep in mind this may mean your workload will be as well). However, she notes that your kids will be (surprisingly) willing to jump in and do more than their share of chores if you have to work a little extra.

If your kids aren't old enough to load the dishwasher and do the laundry, though, it's not the end of the world. "If they're too young, a good friend who's well organized can step in and also give you some parenting hacks you'll find extremely useful," Wright explains.

3 /12: Gemini: May 21 — June 21

3/12 :Gemini: May 21 — June 21

Great news for Geminis in May: "It's a lovefest in the Gemini home as you embark on a new journey of self-discovery," says Wright. She notes that this is a great month for you, as the sun enters your sign on the 20th, so keep your eyes open for any possibilities that may come your way.

Also, she says that your family may be more open to your ideas this month, so share away. "Your family is entering a new phase, and love and acceptance of each other's unique ways of thinking will get you through anything," she says.

Around the middle of May, you may start planning a long-deserved family getaway, so take advantage of your family's open-mindedness as you dream up vacay spots and plan your itinerary. Have you had a hankering for a nearby national park, or have you always dreamed of going back to some of your favorite childhood vacation spots? Now's the time to plan them.

4 /12: Cancer: June 22 — July 22

4/12 :Cancer: June 22 — July 22

Cancer, if you've had a hard time at work, or you feel like you're missing out on career advancements or perks, May is the time when you finally get a break. "You have come to a place where you know now that you don't have to keep proving yourself," says Wright. "And you don't have to pick up the slack for others."

Wright explains that this is a new era, as Uranus in aggressive Aries tones down and shifts the energy to your long-term dreams. "After the initial boiling point cools off, you may be plotting an exit strategy," she notes.

This is also a good time to add on to your family if you've been thinking about it. The timing is good, as Mars amps up your sex drive as well as your deepest desires, which is a win-win combo.

5 /12: Leo: July 23 — Aug. 22

Your May Parenting Horoscope: Leo

5/12 :Leo: July 23 — Aug. 22

Be careful this month, Leo, as Wright says that unexpected twists and turns can throw you into the spotlight — or someone could challenge your reputation. "Either way," she says, "don't get too puffed up about it. You can only do what you can do." In other words, be yourself and everything will be OK.

If you're single and looking, Wright says a new relationship that starts through a work connection can be dynamite — but proceed with caution, as it could fizzle out as quickly as it started. For those with a partner, use this relationship boost as an excuse to go out on a date, even if you're just staying home and watching a movie.

Now's the time to think about late spring or summer camping trips for a family getaway. Whether you're into full-on tent camping or prefer to glamp in fully-furnished cabins with running water, the outdoors is calling.

6 /12: Virgo: Aug. 23 — Sept. 22

6/12 :Virgo: Aug. 23 — Sept. 22

"Virgos who may be thinking of adopting or want to begin the process would do well to get things rolling now," says Wright. "Already in the works? Mid-month may be the big day."

There are a few areas in your life, Virgo, that may be getting some action this month, Wright says. "Your ninth house of long-distance contacts and information, spirituality, religion and travel gets activated, and anything in those categories reaches a turning point," she explains. This may be a good time to reach out to a friend or loved one who lives far away or even plan some travel to see your family.

If your life takes a hard left turn, Wright says you'll want to remember to hold fast to your values and heritage. "Share some family stories and maybe even create some new traditions of your own to pass on to the kids," she says. "They'll be excited to be a part of the story of your tribe."

7 /12: Libra: Sept. 23 — Oct. 22

7/12 :Libra: Sept. 23 — Oct. 22

Libras, take note: School may be coming to a close this month or next, but don't make plans to lay around and miss out on some prime learning — and bonding — opportunities this month even if classes are still in session. "Trips to museums, time at a library, classes and anything to do with learning something new will go a long way to help you create lasting memories with your children," says Wright. "The excitement your kids experience as they discover new things will give you so much joy." If your kids are still on the tiny side (meaning they may not appreciate your local art museum so much), Wright suggests taking them out to the park — or even strolling around your neighborhood. The change of scenery and learning opportunities even in familiar places will do wonders for you both. She adds, "Your adult relationship will improve as well as you realize it's not a tug of war; it's teamwork."

8 /12: Scorpio: Oct. 23 — Nov. 21

8/12 :Scorpio: Oct. 23 — Nov. 21

Watch out, Scorpio, because a resurgence of an old family issue can cause a strain between you and your partner, Wright warns. A family meeting is a must to get everyone on the same page, and don't leave the kids' input out. "Really listen to what your kids are saying without judgment because the solution is right in front of you," she explains. "They may be overdramatizing, but it's still how they feel."

Also, keep in mind that It's a busy time around the house for many Scorpios, so make sure to take time to recharge and don't be afraid to set boundaries, she says. Something to look forward to? The 29th, when you can finally see where budgeting has paid off — and maybe a date night is in order now that things have settled down.

9 /12: Sagittarius: Nov. 22 — Dec. 21

9/12 :Sagittarius: Nov. 22 — Dec. 21

"Whether or not you're an avid vegan or eat nothing but fast food, you'll be looking at your health and how you can create a more consistent, earth-friendly lifestyle," explains Wright. Make an effort to teach your kids about health, recycling and sustainable living; it may make more of an impact now. If you're working on becoming a healthier you, the energy this month is perfect for you to try a new focus on nutrition. "Set it in stone on the 15th," says Wright.

Now is also a good time to get your fam more active. Try yoga or start a summer garden to get your family outside and away from screens. If you don't have time for a ton of cooking, look into a meal-delivery service. "Either way, take steps now to use this turning point to your healthiest advantage," says Wright.

10 /12: Capricorn: Dec 22. — Jan. 19

Your May Parenting Horoscope: Capricorn

10/12 :Capricorn: Dec 22. — Jan. 19

Capricorn, you have the distinction of having Saturn and Pluto in your sign, and this can lead to being overworked and not having a ton of fun. Turn that on its ear and do things you actually enjoy this month. "You may even find a way to turn a hobby into a money-making venture because you're so good at that," explains Wright.

Self-expression is key in May. Do more fun and creative things and express yourself. While the new moon on the 29th may make you a little uncomfortable with this new method of self-expression, Wright says you should just push past the fear.

"Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, the shift is also happening in your house of children," Wright says, explaining that pregnancy news may be likely if that's what you've been trying for.

11 /12: Aquarius: Jan 20 — Feb. 18

Your May Parenting Horoscope: Aquarius

11/12 :Aquarius: Jan 20 — Feb. 18

"Aquarians are super-innovative, and you'll be popping with lots of creative ways to take care of business," notes Wright. With your ruling planet leaving Aries, along with Mars in your sign, you're now center stage, so take advantage of this in May. You'll finish up tough projects and close a chapter (or two!) in your life with the assistance of friends, both near and far, who are willing to help pitch in when you really need them.

Wright also says that any writing or artistic projects will get people's attention this month, and a sudden move or change at home will be frustrating, but only temporarily. She suggests taking your time, as this energy can cause you to push too hard — and definitely ask for help if needed.

With the weather warming up, she notes that the kids may be a bit distracted, but full of energy to do small tasks.

12 /12: Pisces: Feb. 19 — March 20

Your May Parenting Horoscope: Pisces
Image: Ashley Britton/SheKnows

12/12 :Pisces: Feb. 19 — March 20

Pisces, Wright says that looking into your past may not be your best bet this month. "If you're frustrated about something in the past, [the erratic comet] Chiron is moving into Aries for about a 50-year stay," she explains. "This gives you a chance to really put this thing in perspective. Is it worth giving it your attention anymore? Forgive and move on."

On the home front, you'll be delighted when your siblings are willing to help with the kiddos when work gets a bit busy later in the month. Beware, though; you may have a moody partner lurking around. They just need space to speak their mind and feel heard without a solution being necessary — so let them vent. The moodiness won't last. "A trip to a local restaurant or night at the movies will have everyone feeling the love again," she says, so let your partner unload, don't worry about solving all their problems and reconnect over a fun night out.
