If there is one teeny tiny silver lining in the 2020 holiday season, it’s that we do not have to wrestle with hordes of shoppers to get good Black Friday toy deals for our children this year. Most of us will instead be filling Santa’s sack from the comfort of our glowing screens. What’s even better news: This year’s Black Friday-Cyber Monday toy deals are looking very good.
We hope those kids have been little angels this year (or are very susceptible to bribery?), because you’re going to have a hard time resisting the toy deals we’ve found so far. Retailers big and small are offering discounts of 30 percent or more off of popular toys. Some of these discounts are so steep that you may be tempted to buy toys and stash them away for future birthday presents.
While it’s nowhere near as overwhelming as, say, an actual Walmart on a pre-pandemic Black Friday, we get that you are probably being flooded with information about holiday sales this week. To make things a little easier, we’ve picked out a few key items from our favorite toy brands and favorite stores. We thought we’d give you a bit of variety in this list: There are simple toys for toddlers, choices from tried and true brands like Hot Wheels and LEGO, inexpensive stocking stuffers, trendy video games, old-fashioned dolls, and motorized ride-on toys.
But if these particular toys are not what you’re looking for, you can still click on through to find more from those retailers. The usual suspects — Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy — are of course offering great deals for Black Friday. But don’t miss out on the more unique items you can find at smaller toy specialists like Maisonette. You can also shop directly on the sites of brands such as Crayola and animal figurine specialists Schleich.
We do miss the days when we could browse the shelves of our local toy stores, of course. And we definitely hope you have a way to shop local this holiday season, whether it’s on Black Friday or beyond. We like to attempt a balance of all sources — making things better for our wallets, safer, and so much easier.

It’s time to hide your screen from your kids and get started on that Black Friday toy shopping!
