Sherwood Gardens

Take a stroll through the beautiful Sherwood Gardens. More than six acres in size, Sherwood Gardens is open to the public with no admission charge or reservation required. Over 80,000 tulip bulbs are planted here each year. They also have dozens of other types of flowers and blooming plants. Sherwood Gardens is a beautiful place to spend the afternoon and learn a little bit about nature. It’s also a hot spot for weddings and other special events.

Walters Art Museum

This spectacular museum houses more than 25,000 pieces of art and is home to numerous activities and cultural events. General admission to Walters Art Museum is free except for special exhibits. Adults and kids alike enjoy the displays and exhibits at this museum. Children especially love the displays of unique furniture, unusual statues, knights’ armor and Faberge eggs.

Mount Vernon Cultural Walk

This three-mile walking trail takes you through some of the most interesting historic sites, museums and other landmarks in one of America’s top cultural districts. You’ll learn about architecture, culture and history as you visit spots frequented by authors, politicians and other historical figures who shaped our nation. Over 300,000 people attend Artscape in Baltimore each year. The largest free public arts festival in the country, this three-day event is held in July and features more than 150 artists, as well as food, music, street theater, hands-on activities, children’s entertainment and much more.

Quiet Waters Park

This 340-acre park is located between the South River and Harness Creek in Annapolis. Visitors enjoy hiking and biking along six miles of spectacular trails. Families enjoy boating in the summer and ice skating in the winter at Quiet Waters Park. There’s a wonderful multi-level kids’ playground, formal gardens, art galleries, picnic facilities, a dog park and much more. The park is also home to a summer concert series, environmental lectures and numerous other events all year long.
