Devil’s Lake State Park
Devil’s Lake State Park encompasses 1,187 vast acres of natural beauty along with four recreation areas, lakes and gardens. Overnight camping with water and electrical hook-ups for RVs are available. And the lake is packed with species like pike, perch, walleye, white bass and more.

The Bismarck KOA is a beautiful campground with multiple facilities and site options. The campground is rife with big trees that provide shade, big lots for large groups or big RVs (with full electric/water hook-ups), basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts, three separate playgrounds and a heated pool. Banana bikes are available for rent and the grounds are pet friendly.

Turtle River State Park
There is nothing quite like camping in the wooded area along the Turtle River. The government-owned park is ideal for camping, as well as a slue of outdoor activities like hiking, biking, fly-fishing in the trout-stocked river and more. If you are more of a “luxury camper” and don’t like to pitch a tent, cabins are available for rent.

Schnell Ranch Recreation Area
Owned by the Bureau of Land Management, the Schnell Ranch Recreation Area encompasses 2,000 acres of native North Dakota prairie land and woody area reserved as a natural habitat for native wildlife, as well as for the purpose of environmental education and good-ol’ outdoor recreation like camping, hiking and biking.

East Ashtabula Crossing, Baldhill Dam, Lake Ashtabula Project
In the heart of the “prairie pothole country,” Lake Ashtabula is a beautiful place to observe fabulous wildflowers and white pelicans around the lake during seasonal times. There are several great areas for camping, hunting, hiking, boating and much more. Lodging is available as well.
