Family-friendly Seattle restaurants

Seattle families love to dine out! Thankfully, there are some fantastic restaurants in the Emerald City that both kids and parents enjoy. We've put together a list of seven dining spots that Seattle families love -- is your favorite on here?

Blue C Sushi

Blue C Sushi

Have kids who need a distraction when they dine (thank goodness for iPhone apps, right?) -- at Blue C Sushi in Seattle, the conveyor belt of food that goes throughout these fun, fresh sushi restaurants are sure to be a hit! Just be careful -- as much at kids love watching the food go by, they also love taking it off the conveyor belt -- explain to them how Blue C Sushi works before you go to avoid any misunderstandings.

Neighborhood/address: Six locations around Seattle, including Unversity Village, Fremont, Bellevue Square, Alderwood Mall, Southcenter Mall and downtown

Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria

If your family is hungry for pizza tonight, buckle everyone in the car and head to your nearest Tutta Bella -- the pizza is divine, even the plain cheese for the kids will make your mouth water. Tutta Bella locations love to cater to families and even give the kids pizza dough to play with while they wait for their pie.

Locations: 4 locations in the Seattle area, including Wallingford, Issaquah, Westlake and Columbia City

With two restaurants to pick from -- Chinook's for a family-friendly sit-down dining experience, and Little Chinook's that offers walk-up casual dining -- you can't lose. The seafood from Chinook's is top-notch at both locations and all of the servers are so accomodating to children that you'll actually be able to enjoy your meal, too!

Location: Fishermen's Terminal, 1900 Nickerson Street

Serendipity Cafe

The children's play area at Serendipity is the shining star at this delicious neighborhood cafe. Parents will love kicking back in the booths around the play area in the back of the cafe, enjoying a glass of wine or pint of beer, while the kids play and dinner is being prepared. Serendipity is also a great spot to grab breakfast!

Neighborhood/address: Magnolia, 3222 West McGraw Street

5 Spot

Queen Anne families are all regulars at the 5 Spot -- with a rotating menu (and decor) from regions around the country, the 5 Spots comfort food inspired dishes are always delicious. It's hard to tell who loves the 5 Spot more -- the kids or the parents. The menu for little diners is amazingly tasty -- no bland food for young palates here!

Neighborhood/address: Queen Anne, 1502 Queen Anne Avenue North

Maggie Bluffs

If it's a gorgeous Seattle day -- low wind, no rain and lots of sun -- try Maggie Bluffs for a family-friendly dining option with a fantastic outdoor patio! Maggie Bluffs is located right on a marina, making for a great setting and lovely breeze while you dine on their tasty food. The kids menu is a hit at Maggie Bluffs -- they even get an ice cream sandwich when they're done eating!

Neighborhood/address: Magnolia, 2601 West Marnia Place

We aren't trying to confuse you -- yes, this is a pie shop (and one of the best in Seattle, at that!), but they also carry the yummiest savory pies that are perfect for lunch or dinner! Stop by Pie to pick up some of their standards such as mac n' cheese pie or chicken pot pie -- they all come in personal portion sizes and you can either dine there at one of their bisto-style tables or take them to go for eating at home or the park. Check Pie's website for their daily offerings!
