For families, the San Antonio Zoo is a fantastic place to spend the day. Home to over 3,500 animals on 56 acres, the zoo has more than a million guests each year. San Antonio Zoo exhibits include Africa Live, African Plains, Amazonia, Butterflies! Caterpillar Flight School, Cranes of the World, Gibbon Forest, Hixon Bird House, Kronkosky’s Tiny Tot Nature Spot, Lory Landing, Prairie Chickens, Reptile House, Richard Friedrich Aquarium and Rift Valley. Many exhibits, including Tiny Tots Nature Spot and Fun Farm Petting Zoo, are geared toward young children. The San Antonio Zoo also offers special EdZoocation programs where kids can enjoy camps, programs and other activities.

One of the more popular tourist attractions in San Antonio is SeaWorld. SeaWorld San Antonio started out as an educational and entertainment park but was soon a full-blown theme park. It’s now the world’s largest marine life adventure park. SeaWorld offers more than 26 shows, rides, attractions and educational experiences. Located on 250 acres, it’s four parks in one – a show park, a rides and slides park, a water park (The Lost Lagoon) and of course, an amazing animals park. SeaWorld San Antonio also offers several animal interaction programs where you can get up close and personal with the Beluga whale, sea lions and dolphins. Children can also experience multi-night sleepaway camps, day camps, one-night sleepovers and other adventure camps at SeaWorld for hands-on fun.

Home to over 40 species of animals from all over the world, Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch covers 400 acres of Texas Hill Country just outside San Antonio. This drive-thru park allows you to experience over 500 animals including native, exotic and endangered wildlife. After driving through and feeding the animals, you can stop at the Safari Camp Grill to get a bite to eat, play at the petting zoo, visit the Longneck Learning Center, and pick up something at the gift shop. Both children and adults enjoy this amazing wildlife park.
