Don't deny it any longer: You're a soccer mom

Soccer moms may have developed a bad reputation in the past couple of decades (What? They're just enthusiastic!), but being a dedicated soccer mom is making a comeback in a big way! The downside to being a soccer mom is that the fields become your home away from home for the entire season. We love this soccer mom gear that will make long practices a bit more bearable and those cold, early morning games worth getting out of your minivan.

A "clean stuff only" basket

No, this basket is not for soccer cleats that are clumped with grass and dirt or water bottles that are sticky with sweat. This basket is for you, Soccer Mom! Your mini Mia Hamm has her own duffle bag for all of her nasty gear. Fill this one with snacks and water for yourself, a magazine or your book for while they're warming up and all of the other essentials that you'll need to be on the field. We especially love these baskets ($40, Garnet Hill) for being completely collapsible (great for keeping in your car!) and for the cover ($11) that will keep your goods dry if you get caught in an unexpected rain shower while watching her score the big game-winning goal.

Rest your feet from the sidelines

While it's likely that you're going to be on your feet the entire game — between running up and down the sidelines to watch your child play and jumping up from your seat to cheer for that impossible save — having a chair that you love is essential. Many moms will go for those slouchy camping chairs for their sideline seat, but we're going to suggest an upgrade. Something similar to the Coleman Aluminum Deck Chair ($55) will not only save your back by offering you more support, but that little attached table will come in handy when you need somewhere to put your coffee while you clap.

Don't flip out on the field

Moms who live in warm climates, this umbrella serves double-duty, so keep reading (oh, and by the way, the rainy climate soccer moms are very jealous!). Unless your child is playing indoor soccer, you're going to be out in the elements for practices and games and nobody wants to be the soccer mom who has the first umbrella to flip inside out in the wind — it's such a rookie mistake! The GustBuster SunBlok Umbrella ($45, Amazon) will not only hold up to winds over 55 mph, but it also blocks 96 percent of UVA and UVB rays. And, it comes in silver, which is a cool step up from boring old black.

Dry feet, happy soccer mom

If the weather is bad while you're on the field, fashion is going to need to take a backseat — hat, long rain coat, mittens, scarves — it's not pretty. At least you can have a little fun with what you wear on your feet, right? And, thankfully, there are boots that will keep a soccer mom's feet warm and dry, while showing your personality at the same time. Bogs Classic High Mumsie ($110, Zappos) are fun and funky, while still being functional — under that cute pattern, they have a moisture-wicking liner and you know those handles are going to come in handy when you're trying to pull them off after a muddy day!
