How to sneak in a little me time
Being a parent isn't easy. If you aren't careful, you can find yourself stressed-out and exhausted. In order to take care of your family, you need to take care of yourself. Read on to learn how to sneak in a little "me time" -- no matter how busy you are.
Step 1: Wake up early
Ugh! We know it sounds awful. However, waking up just 15 minutes early can allow you to find a little peace. You can meditate, go for a quick walk or just kick back and sip a cup of coffee.
Step 2: Get organized
We all say, "There's not enough hours in the day." But is that really true? Are you overscheduled or just disorganized? If you are losing time because your life (your house, your car) are cluttered and chaotic, you need to get organized. Start this weekend. Clean one room at a time in your house, from top to bottom. Anything that is broken beyond repair or you haven't used/worn in more than six months should be thrown away, sold or donated. Purchase bins, baskets and other items to keep your house as neat and organized as possible.

Step 3: Scale back
If organization isn't the issue, maybe you are just overscheduled. If you have no time left for your family or yourself, then you need to scale back. Take a serious look at your commitments and get rid of the activities and events in your life that aren't really important or necessary. It's not necessary to try to be everything to everyone all the time.

Step 4: Team up with other moms
Everyone can use a little help. Team up with other moms in your area and swap babysitting duties. It's a great way to get a break without spending a dime. If you need some extra help at home (with housecleaning duties or watching the kids), consider hiring someone to help for a few hours a day. If you are a stay-at-home or work-at-home mom, you might not need a full-fledged babysitter but rather a mother's helper. Tweens and teens who are out of school for the summer are an inexpensive option.
