Having a baby changes your life in more ways than one. Between the jiggle in your once perfectly toned abs and utter exhaustion you’ve put your inner diva in the back of the closet with your skinny jeans. Here are some tips to get your sexy back.

Eat right and take your vitamins

It sounds simple because it is. You’ve been through a lot and any extra vitamins and minerals that your body had stored up may be depleted. By eating lots of fruits and vegetables, drinking plenty of water and taking vitamins your body will have everything it needs to replenish itself and finish healing.

Take time for yourself

It can be hard to carve out me time when you are on mommy-duty 24/7. It’s easy to lose yourself in the busyness of taking care of a new baby. Learn to overlook the laundry that needs to be folded and when your baby (finally!) falls asleep, use that time to take a nap, read a book or pursue your favorite hobby.

At least once a week get out by yourself and get a manicure, have your hair done or enjoy coffee with a friend. Don’t forget date night, either. Leaving your baby with a babysitter for an hour or two while you gaze into the mister’s eyes over a candlelit dinner is important for your self-esteem and your relationship.

Buy some clothes that fit

Sure, you are probably carrying a little extra weight but wearing your old maternity clothes or pre-pregnancy clothes that are too tight is not the best way to help you feel sexy again. Buy a couple of outfits that look good and that make you feel gorgeous. Take a good friend along on the shopping trip – you need someone who will be encouraging and honest.

Don’t forget to get something lacy and silky for when you need to slip into something more comfortable.

Best face forward

Don’t fall into the trap of hair pulled into a ponytail, no make-up and sweats every day. Get up and go through your morning routine just as if you were getting ready for work. At least put on some lipstick and mascara, brush your hair and slip into a flattering top and jeans. No matter what happens the rest of the day you’ll feel ready for it.

Fake it ’til you make it

You may not feel sexy but your partner still adores you. Send him sexy texts, hold hands, make-out while you’re watching a movie or surprise him with a come hither look when he least expects it. His positive responses will fuel your renewed confidence.
