Gina Rodriguez did our favorite kind of name-drop on Wednesday — a baby name-drop! She and husband Joe LoCicero welcomed their first child together in March, and the infant finally made his internet debut. The Jane the Virgin star posted on Instagram to share footage of her son and her current TV shows, Not Yet Dead and Dancing with the Stars.
“My three favs, my baby Charlie, Not Dead Yet (NEW EPISODE TONIGHT with the great Paula Pell) and getting back to dancing (you are incredible Sasha Farber🕺🏽💃🏽 and yes, I am breastfeeding while ballroom),” Rodriguez captioned the post.
Did you catch that? She slid it right in there amidst parentheticals, all-caps phrases, and emojis.
Charlie! Little baby Charlie. The name is often used for baby boys (although we love that it’s become more gender-neutral!) and comes from the Old English word “ceorl” which means “man.” But as far as we’re concerned, it means “cute freakin’ baby.”
The carousel of photos and videos includes a selfie of Rodriguez and the back of Charlie’s head, as well as a video of her rehearsing for Dancing with the Stars while she breastfeeds Charlie who is strapped in a baby carrier.
Yup! Talk about a working mom.
“Scusaaaaaaaa what???? Who are you with the bachata breastfeed 🔥🔥” commented one impressed follower.
“You are an absolute QUEEN!!!” pro dancer Julianne Hough wrote. “Love you dearly!!! ❤️❤️❤️ let me know anytime you wanna dance…”
“YOU ARE A MIRACLE HUMAN HOW DAFUQ ARE YOU DOING A DANCE CLASS ❤️❤️,” Not Yet Dead co-star Hannah Simone said to the new mom.
Rodriguez announced her pregnancy on her birthday last summer with an Instagram video of her and LoCicero showing off a positive pregnancy test and the caption, “This birthday hits different.”
Following the announcement, Rodriguez told PEOPLE just how in awe she is of mothers.
“I’m very excited and overwhelmed and feel like a superwoman,” she said. “I feel like every day is bizarre and different, and I have so much appreciation for every human being that has brought a child onto this planet. Anytime I see somebody with a child, I’m like, ‘Congratulations, you’re a superhero.'”
Well guess what, Rodriguez, we felt the same way watching you breastfeed an infant on the dance floor.
