Kids’ Compression Sheets Are a Great Alternative to Weighted Blankets

If you have a child who has autism, ADHD, anxiety or has trouble sleeping regularly, you might want to check out some compression sheets. These aren’t like the loose top sheets that you’ll often find tangled down at the bottom of the bed. Sleeping in compression sheets is like being wrapped in a gentle hug all night. Doesn’t that sound great? The sheets create pressure, which can calm kids (and adults) down. Like a weighted blanket, but they’re much more lightweight. They don’t add a lot of extra heat to your child’s bed, like weighted blankets do. They’re usually made out of a combo of nylon and spandex, so they’re stretchy and flexible. The sheets go around the entire mattress and leave two-thirds of the bed covered in this sheet. The top and bottom portions are open to give your kids the option to stick their feet or head out, if they’d like.

We rounded up the best compression sheets for kids. Our three picks come in a variety of colors, but they all have the same goal: Help your child relax and fall into a restful sleep.

Our mission at SheKnows is to empower and inspire women, and we only feature products we think you’ll love as much as we do. Please note that if you purchase something by clicking on a link within this story, we may receive a small commission of the sale.

1. Harkla Sensory Compression Sheet for Kids

This sheet is designed to be tight around the mattress, so your little one feels the pressure of the sheet as they sleep. This helps them get a more restful sleep without the heft of a weighted blanket. The sheet covers two-thirds of the mattress, leaving enough space for your child’s feet and head to be free to move around. Even though this sheet is tight, it’s extra tough with the double-stitched seams, so your child won’t rip it in the middle of the night.
