Kourtney Kardashian and her ex, Scott Disick, share three kids — Mason, 9, Penelope, 7, and Reign, 4 — and a whole lot of history. They also share Sofia Richie — Disick’s girlfriend. Richie will make her debut appearance on Keeping Up With the Kardashians in a soon-to-air episode. Right now, a sneak peek of that episode is circulating, and it shows Disick clearly uncomfortable in close quarters (a hot tub) with Richie and Kardashian and all three kids on a co-parenting trip to Finland. Something feels… well, off.
The ex-couple has traveled with their kids and with Richie before, but this time around, the vibe feels distinctly strained with the adults. The sneak peek shows the kids with Disick, Richie and Kardashian in a Finnish hot tub, with Kardashian pointing out a smudged bit of Richie’s makeup.
“You’re so negative!” Kourtney seethes at Scott, while Richie gets increasingly uncomfortable.
The Poosh founder then tells the camera, “He’s putting a dark cloud over [the vacation].”
In another clip, Disick refers to the trip as “really awkward,” saying, “I want you and Sofia to be comfortable, but it does take a toll on me… This trip has so much pressure.”
Is the tension good for the kids? Likely not. But we’re hoping this is just a minor blip in Scott and Kourtney’s co-parenting relationship. Both have been committed to working together for the sake of their children. Just recently the two banded together in the wake of their nanny quitting after Penelope scratched her face — and Kris Jenner’s BF Corey Gamble suggested a spanking wouldn’t be out of line (but Penelope’s parent’s weren’t having it).
In a June episode, Kourtney Kardashian said that traveling with Disick and Richie was “really fun and easy.” She added, “I know we don’t have to travel together, and I don’t think we’ll take every trip together, but… we are doing our best to make everything feel super normal for the kids.”
But as one fan commented on Disick’s page, maybe traveling together is too much: “I don’t think [they] NEED to spend this much time together. You can co-parent without spending this much time together. Sofia doesn’t see a problem always hanging out with the Kardashians?”
For his part, Disick has expressed commitment to the co-parenting life. He told ET: “There’s so many things that can pull you in different directions… But at the end of the day, I mean, you just want to be happy, you want to be content, you want to be comfortable. You want to love the people you are with.”
It will be interesting to see if Richie begins making regular appearances on KUWTK — and how the relationship between her and Disick affects Disick’s willingness to keep going on co-parenting vacations.
