Pink Won’t Post Any More Pics of Her Kids & This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things

“I like to share my family. It’s my proudest moment in my whole life. I’m prouder of my kids than anything I’ve ever done and I just won’t share them anymore,” said the “Walk Me Home” singer. “I won’t do it. I’m not posting pictures of them anymore.”

Pink said that she and her husband, Carey Hart, have had it with the negativity of commenters on social media. In the past, Pink has clapped back at the haters. “I have to [go after them] sometimes. Sometimes I feel like I can change their minds,” she told DeGeneres. “I’m all about injustice. I don’t like injustice. I don’t like how brave people are anonymously and just rude, mean, mean-spirited … If I have time, I go in.”

But she’s done with all that, she says. “There’s a kind way to be online… I’m open to kindness … there’s a way to do things. And that mean stuff, that ain’t it.”

And there’s been plenty of mean-as-hell stuff. Recently, when she posted a shot in which (unbeknownst to her) her toddler son, Jameson, had whipped off his diaper, “people went as far as to say someone should call Child [Protective] Services,” Pink said.

So Pink says it’s fine by her to let her kids grow up out of the limelight. She and Hart also share daughter Willow. “[Willow is] 7 now. It’s probably best to pull her back from the world and just let her live her best life.”

Thank goodness Pink recognizes that her true fans — including us — adore her and her spirit of compassion and “live and let live” attitude.

Yeah. That makes us really happy too.

Lots of parents are making similar decisions about not posting their kids on social media. There are plenty of reasons, and cyberbullying is just one.

Sadly, making our kids vulnerable to pedophiles is one reason many parents are re-thinking their posts. There are a lot of creepy people out there, and it’s worth thinking through any post that might overexpose your kids — no matter how cute that potty-training shot may be:

And some moms and dads just aren’t digging feeling attached to a smartphone and worrying about catching every milestone — instead of simply enjoying them as they come.

Whatever the reasons, plenty of parents — including Pink — have decided to keep their family pics private. It’s a personal decision for sure, but we can’t lie: We’re sure going to miss seeing Willow and Jameson.
