Kate Middleton and Prince William visited Northern Ireland this week, where Kate inadvertently revealed her special nickname for their daughter, Princess Charlotte, aka possibly the world’s most famous 3-year-old.
Blogger Laura-Ann of Belfast trotted her own son George to Windsor Park Stadium this Wednesday to maybe steal a peek of the royals during their brief visit. She was in for a fantastic surprise: Kate stopped to chat with Laura-Ann.
The blogger and mom gushed about her meeting on Instagram stories, including footage of Kate meeting Laura-Ann’s son (who of course shares William and Kate’s firstborn’s name, George).
“Hello, what’s your name?” Kate asked Laura-Ann’s son. “Hi, George, what a cool name you’ve got, and you look very smart in your bow tie. It’s very nice to meet you.”
The video Laura-Ann shared cuts off, but she said that Kate asked how old Laura-Ann’s other son was.
“And I said he is 4 and she said, ‘Oh, he’s the same age as Lottie.” Um, that’s definitely the cutest thing we’ve heard all week, Kate. Laura-Ann agrees: “She calls her Lottie!” the blogger gushed into the camera.

And believe it or not, Kate has yet another nickname for Charlotte that completely melts us. It is so British, in fact, you might just need to heat up the kettle and curl up with a cup of tea when you hear it.
Whilst Christmas shopping in Norfolk, England — at a discount score (love!) called The Range — Kate was overheard saying lovingly, “Get up, Poppet,” to Princess Charlotte, who was sitting on the floor near her brother George, according to a witness. Poppet! Lottie! Oh my goodness, we can’t take the cuteness.
On Thursday, during a stroll in Northern Ireland, the Duchess of Cambridge spied a 5-month-old baby and complimented the child’s father, saying, “He’s gorgeous. It makes me feel broody.” “Broody” is the English way of saying, “I’d like to make some more royal babies perhaps.”
