Prince William is no stranger to leading a busy life. When he’s not traveling the world representing the United Kingdom or talking to kids about harmful social media habits, he’s doing everything he can to keep his wife, Duchess Catherine, and their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, happy. How does he do that, you ask? Well, aside from ordering plenty of takeout from his family’s favorite restaurants, William tries to make sure he’s well-rested enough to keep the peace.
“Our third child is due in April, I’m getting as much sleep as I can,” Elle reports Prince William said at the Centrepoint Awards at Kensington Palace last Friday.
According to Elle, the comment prompted someone to ask if he and his wife would ever hope for twins. Without missing a beat, he reportedly laughed, “I think my mental health would be tested with twins.”
Many parents of twins would concur; having two newborns who both need your love and care and time can be quite a struggle (though those parents would likely tell you every moment was worth it). Hey, if American “royalty” Beyoncé can spearhead relief efforts in Texas and headline Coachella while still parenting toddler Blue Ivy and newborn twins, Rumi and Sir, we’re sure the British royals could find a way to manage.
“Two is fine; I don’t know how I’m going to cope with three,” Prince William continued. “I’m going to be permanently tired.”
Though the royal parents certainly have some challenging nights ahead of them, we’re confident they’ll handle all the ups and downs with grace. Or at least Boss Charlotte will.
