John Stamos & Caitlin McHugh's Unborn Baby Made Quite the SAG Awards Debut
Oh, John Stamos, you sly dog. You always know how to set our hearts aflutter. First there was Full House, then there was Fuller House, and now, there are full hearts across the land as Stamos' fans eagerly await the arrival of the actor's first child with his fiancée, Caitlin McHugh. Last night, the couple attended the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, where Stamos and McHugh ruled the red carpet — with some serious baby bump PDA.
As they made their ridiculously photogenic appearance, Stamos was all over McHugh's belly. OK, John, we get the point: You're really, really excited to become a dad. It's cute. Stamos is 54, so one could argue he waited until he was really ready to make the shift from bachelorhood to fatherhood.
In an interview with People TV, Stamos confided that he's been rehearsing for this moment. “I’ll be a fun dad. I’ve been practicing for a long time,” he said to host Jess Cagle. “I’ve done every shtick you can do with a baby on TV... all the bits and jokes and diaper gags. I’ll probably just do all that stuff.”
Baby McHugh-Stamos is due... sometime this year. It was only this week McHugh first trotted out her baby bump on a leisurely stroll with Stamos in LA. The pair has been dating since October 2016 and got engaged at Disneyland in October 2017 — prompting a sweet Instagram post from Stamos.
"I asked... she said yes!... And we lived happily ever after," Stamos captioned the post. His rep confirmed the engagement and provided more details to E! News, saying, "John proposed to his girlfriend Caitlin McHugh on Sunday afternoon at Disneyland... He cut together a film of some of the most romantic moments in Disney and Pixar animation. The film concluded with Sebastian from The Little Mermaid encouraging John to 'Just ask the girl.' Caitlin said yes, then John whisked her to 21 Royal where they shared the news and celebrated with their families."
Yes, he "whisked" her to 21 Royal, folks. The couple is obviously over the moon about their little one on the way — and we're betting Uncle Jesse won't mind whisking that baby away for diaper changes at 2 a.m., either.
