4 Reasons Why Pink Is Our Mom Crush

Sure, a lot of celebrity moms try to keep it real, but come on: Not all of us have Prada diaper bags and two nannies and a timeshare in the Maldives and perfectly curated social media accounts. (Hey, we’re not hating, we’re just saying.)

One of our all-time favorite celebrity moms is Pink, whose candid, super cool approach to motherhood makes us want to raise a glass (or three) with her after getting all the kids to bed. Here are a few reasons why she’s our #MomCrush, Monday through Friday, and weekends too.

1. She’s honest about the hard stuff

Pink’s second child, son Jameson Moon Hart, is a cutie. But his older sister, Willow, has had a very hard time adjusting to his arrival on the scene. Pink’s been incredibly candid about the struggle to help her daughter adjust — and we’re grateful for it. Insta-bliss is the exception to the rule when a new baby comes home to roost, and Pink’s not afraid to admit it.

“I do all kinds of stuff,” she told Ellen DeGeneres, “I literally put Jameson down when she walks into the room…She’s a little weepy these days, so we’re working it out.”

2. She’s all about being strong — not skinny

Don’t you dare tell Pink to lose the baby weight. She’s had it with the unrealistic expectations put on new moms. When she headed back to the gym after Jameson’s birth, she posted an awesomely inspiration — and totally relatable — selfie, captioned “Day 1!!!!!!!! Let’s do this…Week 6 post baby and I haven’t lost ANY WEIGHT YET!!!!…yay me!!!! I’m normal!”
Two months after that we swooned even harder when she posted again on Instagram: “Would you believe I’m 160 pounds and 5’3″? By ‘regular standards’ that makes me obese. I know I’m not at my goal or anywhere near it after Baby 2 but dammit I don’t feel obese. The only thing I’m feeling is myself. Stay off that scale ladies! #feelingmyself #strongismygoal #bodygoals”

3. She’s all for normalizing breastfeeding

Recently, on a hike with Jameson, Pink stopped to nurse him — and took a selfie that she shared online. The excellent caption? “Hiking makes us thirsty! #happybaby #hotpocket #normalizebreastfeedingyo #arewethereyet.” Her no-big-deal approach is a big deal to a lot of nursing mothers, and we love her for it.

4. She and longtime husband Carey Hart don’t have a “perfect” marriage — and that’s OK

Pink and her husband, motocross racer Carey Hart, have never hidden the fact that love takes work (the couple even separated during a few times during rocky patches, then reunited). But Pink and Hart clearly love being a family, regularly posting pics of themselves sharing parenting duties. And in January they took a family trip to the national Women’s March. How fantastic is that? Hart posted, “Very proud of my wife, and it was really special to march in the streets with my family today….”

And Pink recently returned the Instagram love after the two did a charity ride together to raise money to end child hunger. We loved her caption: “Have to say a huge THANKYOU to my partner in crime and all things @hartluck for pushing me and for literally pushing me up a couple hills while you rode one handed. I could not have done yesterday without your support…you are the sweetest, most supportive, strong, open hearted man and I love you. Okay enough of that.”

5. Her sense of humor is tops

No matter what’s going down, Pink keeps her sense of humor about motherhood. She generously shares pics of her life as a mom with her fans, and the captions are consistently hilarious. A recent shot of Jameson grinning was accompanied by, “He thinks what I have to say is really interesting and groundbreaking.”

Actually? We do too, Pink.
