Janet Jackson's baby is born
What a way to start the new year!
Janet Jackson and her husband Wissam Al Mana had their first child together, and it’s a boy according to People magazine.
Eissa Al Mana was born on Tuesday, Jan. 3 and everyone in the family is safe and sound.
“Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” a spokesperson for the star told the magazine. “Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably.”
Jackson, who stayed out of the public eye during her pregnancy, has long talked about wanting to be a mother. Her mysterious April 6, 2016, announcement and tour cancellation had fans in a frenzy.
She was seen in London in September with her growing baby bump. Jackson also gave one brief update in November because she was on doctor-prescribed bed rest due a higher-risk pregnancy at the age of 50.
With the celebration of her new bundle of joy, it’s fascinating to look at the origins of her son’s name. Eissa is a Hebrew name that means salvation. It is considered a rare name for a boy and doesn't even fall into the top 1,000 names.
Jackson’s desire to have a family has been one of great importance to her. She comes from a large family and the love bestowed upon her by her mother, Katherine Jackson, was something she wanted to pass along to her own child.
If we take a deeper look into her son’s name, it clearly demonstrates how significant his birth is to her. He delivered her the ultimate gift — motherhood.
It’s a precious way to start a new year. Jackson seems to be at peace with her life since her marriage to Al Mana almost four years ago, so it’s only fitting that their family grows out of that sweet place of love.
