Former Frasier star Kelsey Grammer is now a dad of seven.
Yep, seven. His wife Kayte gave birth to their third child together Monday — a baby boy named Auden James Ellis Grammer.
Baby Auden joins their son Kelsey Gabriel Elias, 2, and daughter Faith Evangeline Elisa, 4, as well as the TV star’s children from previous relationships: daughters Spencer, 33, Greer, 24, and Mason Olivia, 15, and son Jude Gordon, 12.
We don’t have to try to guess the inspiration for the new arrival’s name, as the couple was quick to provide the backstory. Auden — which means “old friend” — is a tribute to Anglo-American poet W.H. Auden, while second name James honors singer James Taylor — two of their favorites.
Meanwhile, Ellis is a family name: that of Grammer’s maternal great-grandfather, described by the couple as “a colorful character, to say the least.”
Actress and model Amber Valletta also chose Auden for her son in 2000.
Grammer and Kayte met in December 2009 when then-flight attendant Kayte Walsh served Grammer on a plane to England. They married on Feb. 25, 2011, just 15 days after his divorce from ex-wife Camille was finalized. Kayte is only 36, so maybe baby No. 7 won’t be the last.
