Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward's new baby name has real star quality
Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward are first-time dads!
Lewis and Edward, who have been together for seven years, welcomed daughter Monroe Christine Lewis via surrogate on Oct. 25. Proud dad Lewis shared the news on Facebook with an adorable picture of his newborn and an equally adorable caption: "At 4.33 p.m. today, I grew up. Welcome Monroe Christine Lewis."
Lewis and Edward revealed their baby news in May. "We are very excited, but I’m also a little terrified," admitted Lewis. "I’m trying to decide if I’m more terrified or excited, but I think it’s normal."
A Scottish name meaning "mouth of the Roe River," Monroe is a unisex name that has been a popular choice for girls since Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon chose it for their daughter in 2011. It also brings to mind Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe, who definitely adds glamor and star-quality to the name.
Little Monroe was a long time coming for Lewis and Edward. "This has been a three- or four-year process for us,” Lewis revealed. "There were so many obstacles along the way, but there’s a happy ending. I can’t tell you how grateful and appreciative we are."
A week before Monroe's birth, Lewis gave fans a sneak preview of her amazingly stylish nursery on Instagram. Well, we wouldn't expect anything less from an interior designer.
Congratulations to the dads on their new arrival!
