Holly Madison is the latest celeb to embrace the ‘word’ baby name trend

Holly Madison and Pasquale Rotella have kept us waiting for their baby name — but it was worth it!

The Girls Next Door alum gave birth to the couple’s second child, a baby boy, on Aug. 7, and the proud dad quickly announced the happy news on Instagram.

“What an incredible week,” Rotella wrote alongside a picture of his hand next to his new son’s. “A crazy, stressful start, which transformed into this magical moment. First, a five-year-long indictment against me was finally dismissed; then yesterday Holly, Rainbow & I welcomed a healthy 8-pound, 14-ounce baby boy to the family.”

The mom of two also posted a cute image of her hand, with the newborn holding onto her finger.

We had to wait another few days for the little one’s name. Madison finally revealed it on Instagram Friday: Forest Leonardo Antonio Rotella. Forest is a French occupational name meaning “woodsman” or “woods” and a variation of Forrest. He shares the name with actor Forest Whitaker. It was also the name of astronomer Forest Ray Moulton and the first physician to perform open-heart surgery, Forest Dewey Dodrill. The alternative spelling Forrest is the name of Tom Hanks’ loveable character Forrest Gump in the 1994 movie of the same name. While Forrest remains the more popular spelling, Forest may grow in popularity as the trend for “word” baby names continues.

Forest is little brother to Madison and Rotella’s firstborn, 3-year-old Rainbow Aurora, who was the first person to know about Madison’s second pregnancy. The couple married at Disneyland in Sept. 2013.
