Kate Middleton took Prince George's first day of school photos herself
Prince George is all grown up! Proud parents, Princess Kate and Prince William, shared two adorable shots of their 2-year-old son on his first day of preschool. In these photos, Prince George is looking very handsome, bundled up a blue coat and carrying a backpack while standing in front of a colorful mural.
George will be attending Westacre Montessori School, a small preschool that serves around 30 young students. Prince George's school is located in Norfolk and is very close to his family's country home, Anmer Hall, which is also near Prince William's work as a helicopter pilot. This is a convenient choice for the busy parents, who are likely still learning how to balance two young children since the birth of 8-month-old Princess Charlotte.
This school, like other Montessori schools, uses a model of education that encourages children to lead the learning by providing students freedom to move around the classroom, learning new concepts and ideas by interacting with their environment instead of through structured instruction.
Prince George will be attending his preschool part-time. He will spend a few days a week at school, and the other days near his mother and little sister. This will also provide flexibility to the family, since they frequently find themselves traveling to London and prefer to keep their children with them during that time.
These darling pictures of Prince George were shared by Princess Kate and Prince William — and in keeping with her recent habit of sharing photos of her kids, Princess Kate took them herself! It is easy to imagine Kate and William as relatable parents who dote over their young children, making a big deal over the big firsts, just like any loving parent would on their child's first day of school.
Hopefully there will be many more pictures of Prince George and his sister Princess Charlotte in the near future!
