Jennifer Love Hewitt and husband Brian Hallisay welcomed their second child. Get all the details on their baby boy, including which famous literary character they named their son after.
The name Atticus was first made famous in 1960 thanks to main character Atticus Finch in the Harper Lee novel To Kill a Mockingbird. Actor Gregory Peck later played the lawyer who resided in the fictional town of Maycomb County, Alabama.
According to the Social Security Administration’s popular baby name lists, the name Atticus has slowly been working its way up the chart. In 2004, it was the 937th most popular boy name — and it currently has jumped up to number 370. Noah is the most popular baby boy name in the United States.
Hewitt isn’t the only celebrity to pick this cool, hipster baby name. Casey Affleck and his wife, Summer, have a son named Atticus, as well as actress Mary-Louise Parker and Billy Cruddup.
The 36-year-old Criminal Minds actress and her husband also have a 1-1/2-year-old daughter named Autumn James. Hewitt recently shared a sweet picture of her baby bump during her Palmer’s Cocoa Butter photo shoot.

The actress told American Baby magazine that she loves being pregnant because she can actually stop dieting.
“I’ve been an actress for 25 years, and have had to be hungry at times for my career, so being pregnant is completely freeing,” she said. “When I was expecting Autumn, I ate everything I saw! I told myself, ‘Oh there’s a donut — I should have that.’ Now with this second pregnancy, I know the baby really doesn’t ‘need it.’ So I eat healthy foods in general, but I also indulge in little things that I crave.
“Your body changes so much, and there’s a sensuality about that,” she continued. “I say accentuate the fact that your legs look thinner than they ever have, and your boobs look great: Work it!”
