Sports-themed lunch ideas

Do you have a soccer fanatic in your family? Perhaps your kids are rugby league mad? Then you can’t go past these great ideas for sports-themed lunches. You’ve come to the right place for sporty inspiration and ideas for lunch or a special treat.

If you’ve ever watched MasterChef or My Kitchen Rules, you’ll know that when it comes to food, presentation is everything. It’s even more important when you have fussy children. It can be a battle to get them to eat at the best of times, but with a little creative thinking in the sporting arena, they won’t be able to resist these tasty treats.

Football-shaped burgers

NRL and AFL-playing kids will get a kick out of football-shaped burgers. Any tasty mince rissole recipe will suffice. Once cooked, place on top of a toasted burger bun, along with lettuce, tomato, beetroot, onions and good-old Aussie tomato sauce. Use piped aioli or mayonnaise to draw the stitching.
