Bridesmaids actor Chris O’Dowd announced the arrival of his first child, a baby boy, in the most hilarious way. Find out his artistic baby name and see the first photos of his… ahem, bearded baby.
O’Dowd and his wife, TV host Dawn O’Porter, welcomed their first child a week ago; however, they waited until today to share the news. The St. Vincent actor shared the following image of the baby, photoshopped with his beard and his wife’s brown bob.

Art is an Irish name that means “noble bear,” which is a good choice for the actor since he was born in Ireland. Art is a unique choice for boys here in the United States, as it hasn’t ranked in the top 1000 in the last 12 years on the Social Security Administration’s top baby name list.
O’Dowd’s wife O’Porter echoed his sentiment tweeting, “Thanks all. He is one week old today. It’s been a beautiful week. I think we’ll definitely keep him.”
In case you are wondering, she was actually born Dawn Porter; however, she changed her last name to O’Porter once she married O’Dowd. Do you think the baby’s full name is Art O’Dowd O’Porter? (If so, OMG.)
We love this new trend of short, one-syllable boy names. They are cute, catchy and, let’s face it, easy to spell and pronounce. Jessica Simpson named her son Ace, while Owen Wilson gave his son the adorable name Finn. Orlando Bloom has a son named Flynn and Modern Family star Julie Bowen’s son is named Gus. Kourtney Kardashian just gave her baby boy the royal sounding name of Reign, while Pete Wentz has a son named Saint. Angelina Jolie is a fan of the one-syllable names, as she has sons named Knox and Pax.
