Easy candy corn yard stakes kids can make

Don't limit your Halloween decorations to the indoors. Greet trick-or-treaters with these fun and festive candy corn yard stakes that kids can make using colorful duct tape.

Supplies:

  • Sheet of corrugated plastic
  • Scissors
  • Pen
  • Paper
  • Orange, yellow and white duct tape
  • Paint stir sticks
  • Glue

Directions:

1. Cut out a template

Cut out a candy corn shape from a piece of paper to make a template.

2. Trace and cut

Trace around the template on the corrugated plastic, then cut out the shapes.

3. Cover with duct tape

Cut strips of duct tape and tape them to the plastic candy corn shape. Tape yellow at the bottom, orange in the middle and white at the top.

4. Glue on the stick

Fold the overhanging edges of the duct tape around the back of the candy corn. Use glue to attach a paint stick to the back of the candy corn. Once the glue is dry the candy corn yard stake is ready to put in the yard.
