4 Fun and budget-friendly winter date ideas
Date night doesn't have to break the bank. In fact, there are lots of fun ways to spend quality time with your man – minus a huge price tag. To help inspire you and your guy, we put together some affordable ways to have a great time without spending a lot of money.
If you haven't been skating since you were a kid, it's time to give this fun winter activity another try. Depending on the weather where you live, we suggest strapping on a pair of skates and going either ice skating or roller skating (if you live somewhere warm). The only cost will be renting skates (and if you have your own, that's even better). Spend the afternoon gliding around a rink while holding hands with your honey and getting some exercise (and trying not to fall). Afterwards, get a hot chocolate (if it's chilly out) or head home for a glass of wine and cuddle up on the couch.
Get a taste for something new
There are so many activities to try and new things to learn – why not pick one and do it together? Trying a new activity together is a great way to bond and have fun as a couple. Need some inspiration? We suggest giving indoor rock climbing a try since you need to do it in pairs. It's good exercise and you'll feel great knowing you tried something a little bit adventurous. Some other options include trying a new fitness class (spinning if you want to get sweaty, yoga or Pilates if don't) or learning a new sport. One class usually doesn't cost much and learning something new is a great way to spend a couple of hours.
Rediscover your city
We love the idea of grabbing your guy and becoming tourists in your own city. When was the last time you really went out and explored the city you live in? Chances are, it probably has a lot to offer that you've never even noticed. Go to your local library and pick up a guide book for wherever you live. You and your man can then spend the day taking pictures, visiting local monuments, wandering through parks and checking out neighborhoods you haven't been to in a while. Stop for lunch or a drink and at the end of the day, make a list of all the places you want to go back to now that you know they're right in your backyard.
Indulge a little
Feeling stressed out lately? Say yes to a spa day. Going for a massage or spa treatment together can be very expensive, but you can recreate the relaxing atmosphere by having a spa night at home. Save money and have a lovely night in by lighting some candles, running a bath complete with essential oils and exfoliating each other with a loofah or sea sponge (which will make skin ultra-smooth). After soaking in a luxurious hot tub together, give each other massages and finish with some all-over moisturizer. You won't have to spend much (if anything) and you'll have a romantic night in together. What could be better?
