Royal wedding details: What the bridesmaid's wore
Kate Middleton blew the public away with her stunning wedding style. But what’s a bride without her accompanying bridesmaids? The Duchess of Cambridge made sure that her bridesmaids would be beautiful and personal by adding her own special touches!
Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen is the designer of the moment creating Kate's gown, shoes and bridesmaid's dress! Pippa Middleton, the brides' sister and maid of honor wore a heavy, ivory satin-based crepe Alexander McQueen dress with cap sleeves and silk covered buttons down the back.
The younger bridesmaids wore designed by children's wear design Nicki Macfarlane to compliment Kate's dress. Sashes were tied at the waist in a large maid of pale gold silk. The ivy and lily hair wreaths were influenced by the Bride's mother's own headdress worn at her own wedding in 1981.
Each bridesmaid will get to keep her dress as a lasting memento as the bridesmaid's name and the date of the wedding have been hand-embroidered onto the lining of each dress. As if they would forget they were involved in the wedding of the decade!
