3 Benefits of making meals together
Getting behind the counter together can be a great experience. Sharing the cooking duties is more fun than slaving over the stove solo, but making a delicious meal together can also be a sensual experience for both of you.
Doing something together, whether it's going for a run, walking the dog or putting together IKEA furniture, can't help but bring you closer. So why not try making a meal together? From choosing a recipe and shopping for ingredients, to simmering, sautéing and eating, the whole process involves working together. And at the end of it all you get to relax and enjoy all your hard work over a glass (or two) of wine.
Being able to work as a team is an important factor in growing and maintaining your relationship. Cooking is a great way to test the waters in the teamwork department since it requires multiple steps, quick thinking (should something go wrong) and often, patience. Choose a recipe together, go shopping for what you need and then get cooking. It may take a few tries to develop a rhythm and learn not to step on each other's toes, but in the end, if you can cook together and enjoy it, your relationship is probably pretty solid.
Cooking and eating can consume all of your senses, making it a very sensual experience. Often in the kitchen there's a frenzy surrounding getting everything from the stove to the table, which mimics another activity the two of you engage in together… So if you want to heat things up and create something delicious together, open a bottle of wine and get cooking.
