Love horoscopes: Sept. 2 – Sept. 8

Sep 1, 2013 at 10:00 p.m. ET

Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, will be at 15 degrees Cancer from Sept. 7 through Sept. 13. A planet at an exalted degree is analogous to landing on Park Place and Boardwalk in Monopoly and having the money to purchase both. You may have to pay out a lot at first, but you’re guaranteed to be set up for life. So what does this mean love-wise? It means that you’ll want to say “yes” to any invite, date, or proposal you get this week – especially if you’re born under Cancer, Sagittarius, or Pisces. Even if he doesn’t look like much at first, chances are that you’re going out with a goldmine.

Happy couple on a date

Striking gold

Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, will be at 15 degrees Cancer from Sept. 7 through Sept. 13. A planet at an exalted degree is analogous to landing on Park Place and Boardwalk in Monopoly and having the money to purchase both. You may have to pay out a lot at first, but you're guaranteed to be set up for life. So what does this mean love-wise? It means that you'll want to say “yes” to any invite, date or proposal you get this week — especially if you're born under Cancer, Sagittarius or Pisces. Even if he doesn't look like much at first, chances are that you're going out with a goldmine.

ARIES (March 20 – April 18)

You're tired of running to your lover's emotional rescue. You've been there for him 24/7 and are wondering what he has done for you. That's a good question, but before you answer it, you should know that you aren't easy to impress. Your being self-sufficient and independent doesn't allow your lover to show off what he can do. Try to come up with something that he can do for you that would be really special on the seventh. It gives him a chance to step up to the plate.

TAURUS (April 19 – May 19)

You're often warned not to mix business with pleasure but it's hard to avoid when so much time is spent on the job. Besides you're a Taurus, so you probably don't date people outside your field anyway. Work is your passion and you'd be hard-pressed to talk about anything else. That said you do need to keep your wits about you over the next few weeks as a water cooler flirtation comes to a full boil. Make sure that the guy you're crushing on is available, reputable and isn't cooking the books.

GEMINI (May 20 – June 19)

You've been through the emotional wringer these past six months and you're more jittery than you know. This will become evident on Sept. 8 when the moon occults Venus in the zodiac sign of Libra. This will cast a chill on your relationship and it could get you questioning if you two belong together. It's a passing phase (lunations usually are) but this one could throw you into a downward spiral given how vulnerable you're feeling. Don't retreat into a corner. Reach out to him instead. That's what he's there for.

CANCER (June 20 – July 21)

Just because the guy you're seeing says he doesn't know what he wants doesn't mean that he doesn't want you. Men can get touchy and even ornery when they're feeling confused. It may feel like you're on iffy ground, but in truth he's feeling very drawn to you — but guarded. Avoid discussing your relationship this week and keep things light and breezy. At some point between now and Sept. 20 he'll start to talk about his feelings and that will be when you will hear the things you want to hear.

LEO (July 22 – Aug. 21)

Social media has done a lot to remove the barriers of time and space. Relationship possibilities that were unimaginable years ago are now just an instant message away. This will become clear on Sept. 7 when you hear from someone you haven't seen in ages or begin messaging back and forth with some dude who lives halfway around the world. Usually this is just recreational flirting, but the Sun/Jupiter sextile shows that there may be more. You could even make plans to meet before the month is out.

VIRGO (Aug. 22 – Sept. 21)

You're not a big believer in soul mates, but developments this week could convince you otherwise. Don't expect anything earth shaking or hauntingly romantic. That's not the way that the Sun/Pluto trine works. Pluto is the planet of what lies hidden in plain sight so chances are that he's a friend, a friend of a friend or a colleague. In fact you may have even bickered in the past. Nevertheless there's a strong connection that keeps drawing you back into each other's orbit and you'll soon discover what that's all about.

LIBRA (Sept. 22 – Oct. 21)

So why are you talking to someone you know you shouldn't be talking to? That's the question uppermost in mind on the eighth when the moon occults Venus. Maybe you're lonely, curious or just being nice; however, you could find yourself knee deep in an embarrassingly intimate encounter before you know it. Thankfully the moon's effects are passing and you'll have no problem shaking yourself awake. Nevertheless the feelings will stay with you like a half-remembered dream and like a dream they'll pose questions that you won't be comfortable answering.

SCORPIO (Oct. 22 – Nov. 20)

Does unrequited love ever become requited? That's what you'll be wondering on the fifth when the new moon/Jupiter sextile reintroduces an old crush back into your life. People's horoscopes can be stubbornly fixed in their own peculiar way. For instance the circumstances that barred you from getting together before may be gone, but that may not stop another set of circumstances from playing out the same old story. If you two click together easily then great, but if not? Then take this hint from the stars and say thanks, but no thanks.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 21 – Dec. 20)

Single Sagittarians may be wondering if being on your own isn't such a bad idea. Your money is yours, your bed is yours and your future is yours. What do you need a man for — other than the obvious? Well, it looks as if the universe will be taking you up on your “dare” by introducing someone who is completely different from the type of fellow you ever envisioned yourself being with. In fact, he may be so different as to be unrecognizable. And that's precisely the point.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21 – Jan. 18)

You need to learn to accept compliments gracefully. Most people feel flattered when somebody says something nice. They're happy to receive recognition and praise. You, however, feel a moral obligation to list all the things that are wrong with you. This isn't a good idea because it sends the message that you don't want to be noticed — when in truth you're starved for attention. Practice saying “thank you” in the bathroom mirror. It will help you to keep from wincing when you receive an outpouring of affection on the fifth.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 19 – Feb. 17)

Aquarius is an air sign and air signs are the people pleasers of the zodiac. Every relationship in your life is special. You will fret over your dog walker feeling supported in his life choices as much as you will fret over your lover or spouse. But sometimes you have to be reminded that your dog walker is your dog walker and your spouse is your spouse. The new moon in Virgo on Thursday will show you — and in no uncertain terms — that a certain someone in your life should always come first.

PISCES (Feb. 18 – March 19)

Your ruling planet Jupiter will be at 15 degrees Cancer from Sept. 7 to Sept. 13. There are 360 degrees in the zodiac (just like a circle which is what the zodiac is) but only certain degrees are exalted. Jupiter is the planet of good luck and fortune so you will be lucky in love on these days. Clearly this is the time to date, to make a commitment or to get married because any romance that is consummated at this time will surely go the distance. It doesn't get better than this.
