12 Women transform from victim to artist in ‘How I Got Over’

How I Got Over is a new documentary by Nicole Boxer about 15 formerly homeless or incarcerated women and an original play they performed for one night at the Kennedy Center. Based on their harrowing real-life experiences, the play was turned into a movie and will be released on Video On Demand March 6, 2015. Boxer, who was nominated for an Oscar for producing The Invisible War about rape in the military, created this moving film to explore art as a transformative endeavor and tell the stories of 15 amazingly strong women and how they got over.
