Tips for going from beach time to party time

What’s better than a full day of beach gallivanting, frolicking under the sun and cooling off in the sea? While you’re out having fun, you might as well make last-minute plans to go straight from the seashore to the party with all your friends, hoping this day never ends!

As much as we like the sand, heat and wind, they tend to leave our face feeling sticky and dirty, especially after having applied your SPF 50 face lotion over and over again. Not to worry, it only takes a few minutes to refresh your look in time for more fun.

Wipe the grime away

First, always bring along some wet/cleansing wipes. Even better, place them in an icebox to instantly cool off your face and rid your skin of all the excess oil, dirt and debris (use a few more for your whole body). I personally like to follow with a mist of moisturizing hydrating tonic all over the face and a touch of eye cream to soften the gentle eye area.

Freshen up your locks

To combat the greasy mess that is your hair by now, there’s nothing better than a dry shampoo to get rid of excess oil and neutralize any unwanted scent. Although you might not realize it, a stale and sweaty mane might turn people off…

Brighten things up

Summer makeup

Nothing looks healthier and more dashing than a beach glow. Just amp things up by highlighting your skin using a non-shimmering concealer/highlighter that is one full shade brighter than your actual skin tone. Target the high points of your face like the upper part of the cheek bone near the eyes, mid forehead, chin, eyelids and brow bone.

Simplicity rules when it comes to eye enhancement. Just use two to three coats of your favorite black waterproof mascara (top and bottom lashes) to make your eyes pop without the mess or time constraints caused by eyeshadow and eyeliner. For those of you concerned with feeling naked without any eyeliner, remember, you can always smudge some of that mascara around the lash line and easily clean the edges with a cotton bud or tissue.

Lighten your lips

Last but not least, make an entrance by sporting the bright lip du jour in tangerine or raspberry sorbet tones. These bright colors look crisp and upbeat, and you can always smear a couple of dots on each of your cheeks to enhance that colorful radiance emanating from your vitamin D-filled complexion. Finish off with a spritz of your favorite fragrance sample and voila you’re ready to go!

As the belle of the party, you can now solely focus on the music beats and illuminating conversations with all your friends. But best of all, you can repeat the process all summer long, making sure you drink an ample amount of water while getting sufficient sleep to maintain a perfect balance between job, beach and revelry!
