Kiley Stenberg of “A Sequin Dress at Breakfast” tells us how to make our wardrobe go the extra mile by finding different ways to wear our favorite pieces over and over again.

I’m a really big fan of multitasking clothes. Who isn’t? I love the idea of taking one simple basic that everyone has in their closet, and dressing it up three completely different ways for completely different occasions.

One shirt, three ways

Take this plain gray tee, for example. It’s one of the comfiest, coziest, most basic things in my closet. Of course it can be worn any day of the week running around with jeans and casual kicks, but it can easily transition to night with a fun skirt, black heels and a big sparkly bauble around your neck. It may seem too casual for work, but pair it under a jacket and with some colored pants, and it can be office appropriate in most situations.

The key to taking a basic boring piece and making it wearable with multiple outfits is by switching up the accessories and shoes. The height and type of heel, the size and amount of sparkle you wear, and the bag you carry with it will make any plain tee your new go-to for any occasion.
