Best places to elope

If planning a wedding stresses you out to the point it’s no longer enjoyable for you and your future spouse, consider eloping. Eloping is romantic, adventurous and — most importantly — it’s just the two of you.

Las vegas

My husband and I eloped in Las Vegas and often discuss how it was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. It was completely stress-free, more fun than I could have imagined and considerably less expensive than a traditional wedding.

It was romantic and memorable, something he and I — he and I alone — will cherish and remember forever. Eloping is what you make of it. If you want it to be romantic and spontaneous, it will be. The only decision you need to make is where saying your vows will take place. Let’s take a look at the best places to elope in the U.S.!

Las Vegas, Nevada

When you think of eloping, Las Vegas is the first place that pops into mind, and there’s good reason for that! With more than 50 wedding chapels between the Strip and downtown area alone, the options are endless. You can get married in one of Vegas’ premiere hotels, on a gondola, outside via horseback riding or even in a drive-thru! The wedding can be elegant and romantic or fun and adventurous — the choice is yours.

Maui, Hawaii

Destination wedding and honeymoon all in one? Yes, please. Getting married on the beach is only a dream to many, but it can be a reality for you if you plan on the wedding being just the two of you. Getting married on Maui’s white-sand beaches at sunset is not only extremely romantic and beautiful, it’s also affordable. Also, because Hawaii’s weather is perfect year-round, you can choose any date your hearts desire.

Park City, Utah

Park City, Utah, is simply gorgeous — with lush mountain ranges for skiing in the winter and beautiful wildflowers and hiking in the summer. It sits among five-star resorts, delicious cafes and quaint boutiques, making it the epitome of romance. If you and your fiancé enjoy the outdoors and appreciate nature at its finest, Park City is for you.

Niagara Falls, New York

Niagara Falls is a series of three waterfalls that are collectively known as Niagara Falls. By far the number one waterfall in the U.S., Niagara Falls is a jaw-dropping site you’ll never forget. If you decide to elope there, you can choose to do so standing next to the falls themselves, in a helicopter overlooking the waters or even in a hot air balloon! It’s romantic, spontaneous and one of the most memorable wedding locations known to man.

Napa Valley, California

Do you and your future spouse love wine and intimacy? Yes? Than Napa Valley should be a destination you consider. It’s surrounded by beautiful scenery, has perfect weather almost year-round, and there are magnificent vineyards throughout. Get married on the patio of your favorite romantic cottage, and enjoy fabulous wine with only your husband afterward. It sounds almost too good to be true. Also, consider bringing back a few of your favorite bottles to celebrate with family and friends upon your return!
