Party in Vegas

No one says that you can’t go to Las Vegas alone. You can find cheap flights to Vegas from almost anywhere in the country. Though there will probably be plenty of romance in Sin City, you can avoid it. Skip the fountains at the Bellagio, gondola rides at the Venetian and the Eiffel tower at Paris — all the obvious places where couples hang out and do crazy stuff like propose on Valentine’s Day. Instead, spend your day at the hotel spa, getting a full day of pampering. At night, head to the clubs for one of the many anti-Valentine’s Day parties that will be happening on the strip. If Vegas isn’t your thing, Miami is another amazing place to party any day of the year — including Valentine’s Day

Cruise to the Caribbean

It might be freezing in your neck of the woods, but it’s nice and warm in the Caribbean. Book a tropical vacation on one of the many cruise lines that offer singles activities and events. For fun-loving singles in their 30s and 40s, consider Single Cruise’s 2013 Winter Dream Singles Cruise out of Port Canaveral, Florida. It’s not exactly on Valentine’s Day, but close enough! The Carnival Dream departs on Feb. 16 for seven nights with ports in Cozumel, Mexico; Belize; Mahogany Bay, Isla Roatan; and Costa Maya, Mexico.

Explore South America

If you really want to splurge on a getaway, head to South America and Peru. Tour Machu Picchu — The Lost City of the Incas. Escorted tours are perfect for singles. You can meet new people, learn new things with the group and also explore the area independently. Gate 1 Travel offers a seven-day package leaving Feb. 11 that includes round-trip from Miami to Lima (plus intra-country flights), six nights accommodations, eight meals, amazing tours and so much more.

Flirt in Boston

Take a trip to Boston and explore all the city has to offer. On Valentine’s Day, don’t miss the fun at The Bell in Hand Tavern — America’s oldest tavern. On Valentine’s Day, they host the Flirt Fest — Boston’s biggest anti-Valentine’s Day party — where they crown the biggest male and female flirts. You can also enter the contest for the best and worst pickup line. Dance, mingle, have a few drinks and a whole lot of fun.
