During New York Fashion Week 2012, Simply Stylist brought together some of the most influential faces on the fashion-blogger front to bring awareness to a worthy cause helping females, I AM THAT GIRL.
It was no coincidence that the W New York in midtown Manhattan last week was filled with uber-hip fashionistas. The ladies, mostly style bloggers from all across the U.S., were brought to together to talk trends at New York Fashion Week by industry connector Sarah Pollack Boyd and her company, Simply Stylist.
The foundation’s website says it best:
“Don’t let the world define you. Give compliments often, have conversations that matter, love yourself unconditionally, realize your strengths, have integrity, pursue your passion, work hard, contribute to the world, persevere even when it’s difficult, collaborate with girls instead of competing, don’t settle, express vulnerability, be honest with yourself and with the world, nurture your hearts desires, and rock your perfectly flawed, beautyFULL self. Just be YOU and OWN it.”
I AM THAT GIRL is an LA-based foundation encouraging young women to lift each other up and empowering them to find their innate worth and self-purpose.
The foundation’s creator, Alexis Jones, kicked off the three-course meal with a speech about how we can use fashion to connect with fellow females.
If you want to get involved, you can start your own I AM THAT GIRL chapter or donate here.
Following the lunch, E! News host Catt Sadler led a discussion with a panel of celebrity stylists and four popular fashion bloggers competed in a “Blogger Style-Off” hosted by Marie Claire.
