Mexico travel deals

Travel to Mexico is what dreams are made of – from Spanish Colonial architecture in towns like San Miguel de Allende to the mesmerizing Mayan ruins of Tulum, and, in Cancun, white sandy beaches rivaling some of the best anywhere.

Ceiba del Mar Beach

This summer, if you’re looking for Mexico travel deals, you’ll want to check out Ceiba del Mar Beach & Spa Resort in Puerto Morelos. Located on a secluded stretch of powdered sand beach between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, Ceiba del Mar, a short 20-minute drive from Cancun International Airport is an intimate boutique property with 88 ocean-view rooms and suites, seven of which are penthouses. You’ll also find two gourmet restaurants, a pool with swim-up bar, and spa with treatments inspired by Mayan traditions.

Deluxe rooms

Deluxe rooms

Rooms at Ceiba del Mar range from deluxe standard with balcony or terrace (you’ll want to spend time on that hammock, trust me) to the slightly larger junior suites with sitting area, and the 850-square-foot master suite with separate living room, two bathrooms, and work station. And then, of course, there’s the 1,700-square-foot penthouse with sweeping views of the Mexican Riviera – an experience you can enjoy from your very own rooftop plunge pool.

Little details, big impact

While Ceiba is the epitome of luxury Mexico travel, it’s the attention to detail that really sets it apart from other resorts in the Riviera Maya. My driver’s smiling face was a warm welcome among the sea of people at the international arrivals gate, and check-in was a cooling treat on a humid day, with a champagne cocktail and cold towel. There’s even a “secret cupboard” in the room, where staff drop a basket of gourmet coffee and pastries every morning.

Authentic design

But what I appreciated most about Ceiba del Mar is that the resort actually feels like Mexico. You won’t find any swanky, over-the-top city aesthetic here. It’s all about authentic Mexican design – white adobe walls, light blue accents matching the ocean and an ancient ceiba tree growing in the center courtyard, which Mayans believe to be “the tree of life.”

All-inclusive specials

If you’re looking for Mexico resort packages this summer, Ceiba del Mar has a series of all-inclusive specials. The Gourmet Plan starts at $372 per night for double occupancy and includes all meals, snacks and beverages, and alcoholic beverages. The only thing not included is room service and minibar. This same price also is good for up to two children.
