What we eat doesn’t just make a difference in how we feel. Diet can also play a role in how we look. When it comes to beautiful skin, Colette Heimowitz, VP of Education and Nutrition at Atkins Nutritionals, suggests eating the following foods for a flawless face.

  3. Brussels sprouts
  4. Lean red meat
  5. Eggs
  6. Salmon
  7. Tomatoes
  8. Berries
  9. Broccoli
  10. Spinach

Along with the above, a low-glycemic, low-carb diet rich in healthy fats such as avocado, olive oils, etc., is beneficial to the skin. For example, avocados are full of vitamin E, vitamin C, lutein, several B vitamins and niacin, all of which have been shown to be good for hair and skin, Heimowitz expains.

Alternatively, a diet high in sugar or high-glycemic carbohydrates can eventually cause your skin to become stiff and brittle over time, resulting in a loss of elasticity, wrinkles and sagging.
