Hoochieware is a new brand that features a collection of novelty tees, jeans, skirts, dresses, jackets and even body care products. But will women want to latch onto a brand called hoochie? Well, it’s not exactly what you think.
Hoochieware is inspired by the original hoochies. In the 1920s, apparently the “hoochies” were the flappers. Hoochieware says they were “courageous, unapologetic and proud of who they were.” The label is for women who want to flaunt their fabulous selves. Price points are reasonable, averaging $35-$55 in sizes XS-XXL.
The best part of this new brand is its philanthropy angle. One hundred percent of the net proceeds from Hoochieware are donated to Point Hope — a non-profit that raises awareness and champions the cause of women and families. The organization “empowers and educates women from the United States to West Africa by providing the communities they care for with water, food, shelter, clothing, schooling, jobs and heath care.”
Just for charity sake, we should probably take a closer look at the line. (I wish they had actual flapper dresses!) Check it out at hoochieware.com.
