Nick on the Go comes to Hertz
Small children and a long car trip can be a disaster! Well, no more thanks to Nickelodeon TV and Hertz.
Nickelodeon and Hertz Rental Cars have teamed up for Nick on the Go, a self-contained game and movie player that you can rent when you pick up your next car at Hertz.
What they can watch
Perfect for family travel, Nick on the Go is preloaded with more than 40 hours of top programming from Nickelodeon and Nick Jr, including popular episodes from SpongeBob SquarePants; Drake & Josh; Avatar: The Last Airbender; El Tigre; Danny Phantom; The Fairly OddParents; Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius; All Grown Up; Catscratch; Rugrats; My Life as a Teenage Robot; The X's; Unfabulous; and Zoey 101.Preschoolers can watch Dora the Explorer; Blue's Clues; Blue's Room; and The Wonder Pets. Programming and content for all ages will be regularly refreshed to meet the needs of frequent renters.Nick on the Go has easy-to-use touch-screen technology. The durable unit, covered in Nickelodeon's iconic orange, can be used anywhere -- and kids can adjust multiple functions with a quick touch. While you're in the car, there is a mounting system you can use for back-seat viewing. Outside the car, the system is easily handheld and completely portable -- so you can bring it to the hotel (see our Hotel survival guide when traveling with kids here) or to the pool! Perfect for extended trips, the long-life battery can be recharged with either a car or a/c charger -- both of which are provided in a handy (and, of course, Nick-branded) traveling case.
Where can you get it?
Right now, the player is available at more than 40 major airport rental counters across the country -- including LAX, Boston, JFK, Phoenix, San Francisco and Chicago O'Hare. Hertz eventually plans to roll out additional units to more locations. Current price for the Nick on the Go rental is $16.95 per day.
