This HGTV Dream Home Is for Sale, but It Comes With a Hefty Price Tag

Every year, I enter the contest to win HGTV’s Dream Home, but sadly, fate has yet to deal me a winning hand. Not so for Emily Muniz of Tennessee, who won the 2018 HGTV Dream Home in Gig Harbor, Washington, and decided to give it up.

According to People, Muniz and her husband decided they didn’t want to move all the way to Washington, even with a house that divine, and they accepted a cash prize instead.

The house was sold to a different couple, but that couple is now moving out of state. The Dream Home is back on the market, and if you have the money (*cough* $1.9 million *cough*) it could be yours. You won’t even have to go through the tedious motions of applying for a sweepstakes!

The four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath home is a waterfront property with views of Henderson Bay from almost every room of the house and multiple outdoor entertaining spaces (including a deck and a patio with fire pit), so you can really enjoy the spectacular panorama from the 1.26-acre lot.

The 3,591-square-foot house itself features high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, wood floors throughout, an updated kitchen, and an airy, modern design. There is a master bedroom as well as a junior master suite and two additional bedrooms for additional family members or guests.

Apparently, Muniz and her husband aren’t alone in choosing not to actually live in the Dream Home. According to Country Living, “Of the 21 people who’ve won Dream Homes over the years, only six, or about 28 percent, actually lived in their home for more than a year…The vast majority either took the cash alternative or sold the house back to the developer within a year of winning.”

*Le sigh* Hopefully, one year I’ll be able to be one of the people who goes against the grain and actually settles down into their magnificent Dream Home after winning!
