We hate to break it to you, Melbourne, Australia, but we've got some bad news. You may have had a cushy, seven-year reign, but there’s a new world’s most livable city.

Vienna, Austria.

According to the Economist Intelligence Unit via Fortune, Austrian capital Vienna scored a near-perfect score of 99.1 out of 100 in the index. The annual survey considers 30 factors related to safety, the environment, health care, educational resources and more — according to The Economist. Was the U.S. anywhere to be found? Nope.

Six of the 10 top-scoring cities are in Australia and Canada. Also in the top 10 is Osaka, Japan (No. 3), which had consistently low crime rates and scored highly for its public transit. Copenhagen, Denmark, also made its way to the No. 9 spot thanks to its increased availability of affordable housing.

Here are the rest of the top 10 most livable cities:

  1. Vienna, Austria
  2. Melbourne, Australia
  3. Osaka, Japan
  4. Calgary, Canada
  5. Sydney, Australia
  6. Vancouver, Canada
  7. Tokyo, Japan
  8. Toronto, Canada
  9. Copenhagen, Denmark
  10. Adelaide, Australia

While they may all seem wildly different in culture and climate, one characteristic all these cities do share is they're all mid-size cities in wealthier countries with a relatively low population density.

As far as U.S. cities go, they continue to fall down the ranks. According to an infographic on Economist’s site, riots in Atlanta and Chicago affected their security rankings. However, Detroit reversed its decline thanks to lower crime rates and reinvestment in its downtown area. And Honolulu is the topped-ranked U.S. city in 23rd place, followed by Pittsburgh in 32nd.

Here are the bottom 10:

  • Damascus, Syria
  • Dhaka, Bangladesh
  • Lagos, Nigeria
  • Karachi, Pakistan
  • Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
  • Harare, Zimbabwe
  • Tripoli, Libya
  • Douala, Cameroon
  • Algiers, Algeria
  • Dakar, Senegal
